SYNVENTIVE ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE LEVEL PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS AND CHANGES TO GLOBAL MANUFACTURING STRATEGY
Peabody, Massachusetts USA (June 1, 2009) . . . Synventive Molding Solutions has announced a shift in manufacturing resources, and several executive-level personnel appointments.
Synventive has shifted some engineering and manufacturing resources from North America to its operations in Germany and China. Robert Davies, Synventive CEO says “We are leveraging our global manufacturing footprint to be more competitive in the marketplace. The operational improvements will align our resources more closely with our customers and will improve our engineering and manufacturing efficiencies.”
Concurrent with the operational changes, Synventive announced several executive-level personnel appointments. “With these changes I feel we have in place the best possible global team to help drive long term growth,” said Davies.
-Mark Moss has been named to the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Market and Product Strategy;
-John Jofre has been named to the position of President- Synventive Asia;
-Brian Bechard has been promoted to the position of President – North America
In his new role as EVP, Market and Product Strategy, Moss will focus on expanding Synventive global market share, lead global account management efforts, and drive the company’s global productivity efforts. He will be responsible for the company’s R&D, Design Automation and IT, and Marketing departments, and will have shared responsibility for Operations with the regional Presidents.
Moss will work from Synventive North American headquarters in Peabody, Massachusetts USA. He is returning to Peabody after 5 years in China, where he started Synventive Asia in Suzhou and built it into a critical part of the company. “Through Mark’s leadership, our Asia operation has developed new products that will allow Synventive to enter new growth markets, and enable us to compete with anyone in the world,” said Bob Davies, Synventive CEO.
Replacing Moss in Asia is John Jofre, who joins Synventive with a rich background in the injection molding industry and in Asia where he spent most of the last sixteen years. John was most recently Vice President of Engineering for Splice UK, a fiber optic solutions company in the Philippines where he was responsible for setting up Asian operations.
Prior to Splice UK, John was Vice President for Pacific Operations at Portola in Shanghai, a manufacturer of closures for the cosmetic and beverage industries. John also has 8 years experience in a progression of roles in China with Tyco Electronics, a large electronic connector manufacturer.
Brian Bechard joined Synventive in March 2008 as Vice President of Operations for North America. During his first year at Synventive he achieved significant results in Lean Manufacturing and he successfully implemented and accelerated innovative commercial and operations initiatives for Synventive North America.
Prior to joining Synventive Bechard managed an injection and extrusion molding plant for Avery Dennison, where he oversaw all functional departments including molding, assembly, distribution, planning/procurement, engineering, quality and customer service. His success there led to his nomination for a Corporate Leadership Award after his first year as Plant Manager.
